The Culinary Life Skills Project empowers hearing-disabled students aged 10-14 at the Quang Tri School for Children with Disabilities (QTSCD) by teaching
essential cooking, kitchen safety, and gardening skills

to foster self-sufficiency and enhance their ability

to care for themselves and their families.

WHAT

The Culinary Life Skills Project teaches essential cooking, kitchen safety, and gardening skills to students aged 10-14 at the Quang Tri School for Children with Disabilities, fostering self-sufficiency and improving their ability to care for themselves and their families.

WHO

This project serves
50 students aged
10-14 at the Quang Tri School for Children with Disabilities, facilitated by the Community Development Fund (CDF), a Vietnamese non-profit organization with nearly two decades  working with hearing impaired youth.

WHY

The project equips children with vital life skills, promoting self-sufficiency, personal well-being, and community involvement. It aims to create a replicable model for culinary life skills education across Vietnam, addressing gaps in local education for disabled children.

HOW

Starting in 2024, the project includes a needs assessment, curriculum development, hands-on training, and facility construction. CDF is raising funds to ensure the program's success and relevance to the children's daily lives and future opportunities.
