Helping minorities towards a better life.
CDF works with local communities to provide safe shelters, sustainable livelihood, and economic development opportunities to rural communities, especially for the ethnic minority groups.
The house building program is an essential program to build a foundation for rural and remote communities to be settled down and develop their own lives

Houses for landmines & Agent Orange victims
The war was over for nearly 50 years, but the impact is still there. Thousands of people have been killed by unexploded ordinance in Quang Tri since 1975. Along with that, the Agent Orange chemical sprayed by US Army still resulted in disabilities among the people. With the support of Hanoi Youth for Community Service, CDF have been able to build more than 42 houses constructed by local woods. These houses are on stilt which help to keep local culture and avoid flooding.

Goats husbandry for ethnic minority farmers
During the 2020 flooding, Ba Long commune was totally isolated for three weeks with barely any support from outside due to the high level of flood. There are places submerged 5m under flooding. 400 hectares of crops were damaged. Damage to local livelihood was huge. Early 2021, with the support from Project Vietnam Foundation, a collaborative team with 15 families in Ba Long commune was set up. They were provided 30 goats and trained for a free-range goat raising project. 27 of the goats are female. By September 2021, 6 baby goats were born, increasing the number of the herb to 36 goats.
